NEW HOUSE, BROUGHTY FERRY, DUNDEE
The house consists of a living/dining/kitchen with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The design is “upside down” with the living/dining area getting an oblique view of Dundee to the north west and the kitchen opening onto a roof terrace looking due south. The main entrance is from the north at a half level. The design has an “open” side with extensive glazing looking west and south but elsewhere the elevations are predominantly masonry. All the rooms look into a small courtyard. An external staircase connects this to direct to the first floor accommodation. The upper level is one continuous space with the barrel vault appearing to “float” above it with glazing on all four elevations under it.
