Applications have been submitted to Angus Council for planning approval and listed building consent in relation to the Grade C listed Simpson Golf Shop, located in Carnoustie.

The proposals seek permission to convert and sensitively adapt the historic building into an interpretive centre that will celebrate and communicate the rich history of golf in Carnoustie, alongside the legacy of the Simpson Golf brand.

The development aims to preserve the architectural and historic character of the listed building while introducing carefully considered interpretive displays, exhibits and visitor information. The proposed centre will serve as a community and visitor attraction, highlighting Carnoustie’s significant contribution to Scottish golf heritage and the craftsmanship of the Simpson family, renowned club makers of international repute.

All proposed works will be undertaken with respect for the building’s listed status, retaining key historical features while enhancing the visitor experience through subtle restoration and interpretation.
